What I already knew/What I Wanted to Know Adoption is a great thing, it helps a child in need and makes a family complete. Adopting a child in most cases can save them from an abusive home, or take a poverty stricken child out of poverty or even help people in love who cant have kids of their own and want to be a family. By adopting a child you are giving them a chance to a better life and giving a couple even more happiness in their life ultimately its a rewarding process. There will always be a child in need of a better life or a couple dying to make this better life happen so why isnt everyone allowed to do so? In certain states there are these children and couples in need of each other but state laws are keeping them apart based on sexual preference. Before starting this paper I thought that same sex adoptions went like every other adoption. I mean children need homes so it shouldnt matter what sexual preference they are, it should be based on if they are qualified
