Connie was born in Japan, and raised in many places around the world. She graduated from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and her major was in art and ceramics. She has also studied ceramics in Tokoname, Japan. Her work has been shown into many national shows, including Strictly Functional, Ceramics USA, and Origins in Clay, and a solo exhibition at NCECA, 2006. Connie is a Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Fellowship, The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation seeks to further the artists philanthropic and educational initiatives, and aims to preserve and advance global understanding of the legacy of Robert Rauschenbergs life and artwork, recipient winner for 2002. Also, in 2005 she received a Wyoming Art Council Visual Art Fellowship. Her work has been published in Ceramics Monthly. In December of 2004 she was on the cover of Ceramics Monthly. In her last 9 weeks of her senior year of high school, she asked the ceramics teacher if she could start attending her class during her off hour. She started going in and just fell in love with clay, soon she was going in early in the morning, during lunch and after school.
